FAQ

HOW DO I MAKE AN APPOINTMENT?

Either complete the contact form to request a call back, or contact one of our clinics via phone or email to speak with one of our lovely receptionists. We will discuss your availability, concerns for your child and ensure that our service is the correct one for your child. Go here to find all the contact details for our clinics.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM AN ASSESSMENT?

Depending on the age of your child, we recommend our thorough 2 hour assessment which involves an occupational therapy and physiotherapy review. After this, we usually write a report that outlines our findings, our specific individualised therapy plan and recommendations. You can then send this report to your school, GP, paediatrician or use it for your NDIS application. After the report, we get straight into the fun therapy sessions!

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING TO MY ASSESSMENT?

To help our therapists provide the best quality service for your child please bring with you any previous allied health reports for us to review (which can also been emailed to us if easier).

If you are bringing your child in for an occupational therapy assessment, please bring the following;

  • A sample of their handwriting and/or drawing.

  • A video or photo of them doing homework or eating.

If your child is coming for a physiotherapy assessment, please bring the following;

  • Shorts and a tee shirt.

HOW CAN I PAY FOR MY APPOINTMENT?

Private Health Insurance - If you have extras cover you may be eligible for a rebate through your private health fund. We have HICAPS facilities in our clinic so we can claim on the spot.

Medicare may offer you a rebate on 5 therapy sessions per calendar year under the Chronic Disease Management (CDM) scheme. Talk to your GP to see if your child is eligible.

NDIS - You can use for NDIS funding to pay for your child's therapy. We accept all NDIS plans including self managed, plan managed and agency managed.

IF I HAVE ALREADY HAD AN ASSESSMENT ELSEWHERE, CAN MY CHILD JUMP STRAIGHT INTO THERAPY?

If you are looking to change services from an existing provider to us and have a recent report, written in the last 6 months we can usually start sessions straight away and conduct any further assessment over a few sessions.

DOES THE PARENT NEED TO BE PRESENT?

TLC policy states that the parents must be present for their child's assessment and ongoing therapy. This is so we can explain what we are doing in therapy, teach your strategies and tasks to do at home and for the safety of your child.

CAN I BRING MY OTHER CHILDREN?

Yes, you can bring your other little ones to our clinic. However, we just need to make sure they won't be distracting for your child doing therapy. If your child is likely to be distracted with other kids in the room, you may decide this might not work for your child.

WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?

Your appointment time has been reserved especially for your child. We require cancellation 48 hours before a booked appointment, as the therapy is prepared ahead of the actual therapy time. Advanced notice allows us to offer the time to another family from our waiting list.
